Ik kan niet geloven dat augustus al weer voorbij is! De tijd vliegt (en wij worden ouder, zucht)... Maar voor september begint, wil ik graag mijn favorieten van deze maand delen!
I can't believe August is already gone! Time flies (and we get older, sights)... But before September starts, I wanted to share my favorites!
Plaats/ Place - Gran Canaria
Without a doubt Gran Canaria! Just a lovely place under the Canarian sun! I think the picture speaks for itself...
Liedje/ Song - Love is Flawless
Altrego is een Brits duo, bestaande uit Jasper Erkens en André Fisher. Hun muziek valt te beschrijven als een mix van electro, dance, blues and punk. Dit geeft een sound waar je van houdt of net niet!
Het liedje Love is Flawless begint met een lekkere beat waar je helemaal in kan opgaan (geweldig voor die warme zomeravonden) en heeft een geweldige 'bridge'. I just love it and can't get enough!
Altrego is a British duo (Jasper Erkens & André Fisher). You could describe their music as a mixture of electro, dance, blues and a hint of punk. This gives a sound that you like or not! The song Love is Flawless starts off with a nice sweeping beat and has, just one of my favorite bridges ever! I just love it and can't get enough!

Accesoire/ Accessory - Necklace
Toen mijn beste vriendin me deze gaf in H&M, denk ik dat ik letterlijk flipte. De kettingen in Zara waren net iets te 'zwaar' naar mijn zin en ik was dus al geruime tijd op zoek naar een 'lichte versie'. Ik ben verliefd op de kleuren, het model, de kleine buisjes,... kortom alles eraan dus. Ze kan een casual outfit direct wat pit geven of je kan ze gewoon dragen op een chique outfit, multifunctioneel!
When my best friend showed me this necklace at H&M, I think I literally freaked out. The necklaces sold at Zara were just too bold and big, so I was on the hunt for the 'slimmed version'. I am just in love with the colours, the model, the little golden and silver tubes,... to be short: everything. She can spice up a casual outfit or she can glam your chique outfit, multifunctional!
Nagellak/ Nailpolish:
Zoals je kan zien, kon ik niet kiezen! Absolutely Blue is een prachtig babyblauw en zoals alle borsteltjes van Essence gemakkelijk 'lakbaar'. Het blijft zeker een week op je nagels met twee lagen! Be Natural is het perfecte 'nude' voor je nagels. Het klinkt vreemd, maar met Be Natural van Catrice op mijn nagels, voel ik me al advocaat. Ziet er lekker professioneel uit en blijft ook lang op de nagels (ook twee lagen)! En dan mijn laatste, Lavender Cupcake van NYC. Alleen de naam al! Het is een prachtige mix van pastel paars en zachtroze, net niet té girly of Barbie! Net zoals de anderen blijft het er lekker een weekje op met twee lagen!
As you can see, I couldn't choose! Absolutely Blue is a beautiful baby blue and like all brushes from Essence it is easy to paint. It will stay on for almost one week with two coats! Be Natural is the perfect 'nude'. It may sound odd, but with this colour on my nails, I feel like I am already a hard working attorney. Looks professional and lasts long (with also two coats)! And the last one, Lavender Cupcake from NYC. The name only! It is a stunning mix of pastel-like purple and soft pink, just not too girly or Barbie! Just like the others, it lasts for a week with two coats!
Lippen/ Lips - Bourjois Color Boost
De Bourjois Color Boosts zijn glossy, creamy, drogen niet uit, mooie kleur, gemakkelijk te gebruiken... Geweldig dus! Ik moet toegeven dat dit mijn eerste 'lipsticks' zijn. Dus het groentje in mij is perfect gelukkig met deze twee. Niet te gewaagd voor je eerste lipproducten, zodat je rustig kan opbouwen (hou je maar al vast!).
The Bourjois Color Boosts are glossy, creamy, non-drying, long lasting, gorgeous colors, easy to use,... perfect. I have to admit dat these are my first 'lipproducts'. So the rookie in me is perfectly happy starting with these two. Not to bold for firsts, so you can ease into it (so behold for the next ones!).
Random - my new vanity
Ik heb heel lang gezocht naar een manier om mijn kamer aan te kleden nadat de kleuren van mijn muren serieus tegensloegen (lees: botergeel met hemelblauw. Ja, ik weet het...). Zelf ben ik niet zo'n fan van 'kitsch', maar ik denk dat ik een leuke fusie heb ik kunnen vinden tussen strak en kitscherig (ik ben verschillende kleuren beginnen te gebruiken in decoratie om een evenwicht te vinden met mijn muren). 's Morgens schminken heeft ineens een andere dimensie!
I've been looking for the wright way to decorate my room after the colours on the wall appeared to be a big failure (read: buttery yellow and skyblue. Yes, I know...). I am not a big fan of 'kitsch', but I think I found a nice fushion between 'modern and thight' and 'kitsch' (that works for me). I started to decorate my room with loads of different colours to find a balance with the balance and soften them. Applying make-up in the morning has gotten a different dimension!
TV - Game of Thrones
Zoals gewoonlijk spring ik heel laat op de trein van goede series, maar beter laat dan nooit! Mijn beste vriendin heeft dit geweldige talent om mij 'verslaafd' te krijgen aan bepaalde zaken, zo ook Game of Thrones. Aangezien ik er zo laat op spring, denk ik niet dat deze serie nog veel uitleg vraagt: een super spannend verhaal waar 'happy endings' niet bestaan (eindelijk!).
As usual I am late for the hype... My best friend has this amazing talent to get me 'addicted' to certain things, as Game of Thrones for example. Because I am a bit late for watching this, I don't think that this series need more explaining: it is just a incredibly thrilling story where 'happy ending' don't exist (finally!).
Blog - Mia's Little Corner
Voor alle beauty-lovers onder ons, dit is een geweldige blog waar ik wel uren op kan zijn. Mia is vooral een beauty blogger (woont in Zwitserland) en laat een mix zien van goede 'drugstore' producten en duurdere. Aangezien ik nog maar sinds kort 'into make-up' ben (lees een dikke 3 maanden), is dit een perfecte plaats om kennis te maken met verschillende merken. Ik ben altijd het type persoon geweest die voldoende had aan mascara, maar ik moet toegeven dat make-up best spannend en avontuurlijk kan uitdraaien! Ik heb geleerd dat je ook make-up kan gebruiken om wat je hebt, extra in de verf te zetten!
For all beauty-lovers amongst us, this is an amazing blog where I can read and read for hours! Mia is most of all a beauty blogger (based in Switzerland) and shows us a mix of great 'drugstore' and 'highstreet' products. Since I've only been into make-up for a few months, this is the perfect place to get to know different brands. I've always been that kind of girl who was happy with mascara, but I have to admit that make-up can be exciting and quite adventurous! I learned that make-up can not only be used to hide things, but can also be used to enhance the beauty you already have.
