Past week I went to Barcelona on a small citytrip for 3 days with a friend. During these days we tried to visit as much as possible by bike!
We were able to rent bikes for €6/day (+ a deposit €50) from Mattia Bike in C/Union. It is located in a side street from the Ramblas near the Liceo. It may look 'lurid', but it is by far the cheapest one (other ones may ask €9/4hours)!
Andere aanraders/ Other must do picks;
- Avondeten/ Dinner: El Raco in Rambla de Catalunya & La Poma op de Ramblas
- Feesten/ Party: Shoko in Barcelonetta
Ryanair |
We were able to travel with Ryanair, a low-cost company, because we didn't bring luggage. The disadvantages travelling with them are; the literally 'loading and unloading' off passengers, strict rules towards handluggage and that the spaces to store your luggage are way too small! During the flight back home I had to keep my luggage between my feet, comfy... The advantage is ofcourse that you're probably 90% of time on time!
Gaudi House - Casa Batllo |
It is truly a amazing house! I could keep staring at it for ever! Too bad the entrance costed €29, if I remember correctly...
Gaudi House - Casa Mila |
Park Güell |
We went to visit Park Güell on a foggy day. I was so proud at myself for cycling the whole way up (ok, except for the last street, which looked like it was going straight up...). But even hidden underneath a grey cloud, it still remains a be-a-utiful park! We didn't walk through the whole park, only a small section (the weather wasn't really inviting enough to keep a 'voyage').
Port Vell - Shoppingcenter |
We had such a nice breakfast here the day we left! Such a beautiful bridge and amazing view!
La Boqueria |
La Boqueria |
La Boqueria |
Fruit, fruit, fruit... Everywhere I looked, was fruit and little homy market stands! There was a 'buzz' in the air coming from vendors and buyers, but also from people having breakfast. I just get sooooo happy and excited coming to these little and in some way busy markets. The vibe that the city is alive, is just catching!
Now just a few other pictures capturing the moment and architecture. Enjoy and hopefully I can get you excited for a trip to Barcelona.
